Gordes, France

Jeannine and I took a day trip over to Gordes.  Everyone told us about it and how nice it is.  During the Summer it is more active and more shops are open.  It is built on the side of a mountain and was founded in the 8th century AD where monks built the Abbey Saint Chaffrey.  The castle was built in 1031 AD.  We had nice weather and a good walk around town.  I need to be careful due to my knee problems, but it still doesn't stop me from going in rough terrain.

Not one of my smarter moments.  There is always a return trip to make.

Return trip from my downward adventure.

Every time we return from a northern excursion, this is our first view of Marseille.  This was taken from the car with a telephoto lens.  Directly down from Notre Dame de La Gard is the Vieux Port.
